Parenting Centres - The Queen Elizabeth Centre (Public Hospital) SEEKING BOARD MEMBERS - HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE Expressions of interest are sought from the Minister of Health, the Hon David Davis MP, for non-executive members of the Board of Management (board) of The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) in Noble Park, from 1 July 2014. QEC is a public hospital under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic.). As an Early Parenting Centre, QEC provides intensive parenting support to vulnerable families with children from late-term pregnancy to pre-school, who are experiencing parenting difficulties due to issues such as mental illness, disabilities, family violence, social isolation and/or substance abuse. The Victorian Government is committed to ensuring that government boards reflect the composition of the Victorian community. This includes appropriate representation of women, Aboriginal Victorians, young Victorians, Victorians living with a disability and Victorias culturally diverse community. Board membership provides an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced persons to actively contribute to the strategic planning and governance of early parenting services for the Victorian community. Applications are now sought from people with high-level skills, knowledge and expertise in: health service management (including financial, information technology, commerce or banking and industrial relations), auditing and law. Previous board experience, particularly in relation to financial management and a practical understanding of auditing requirements will be highly regarded.
